Registration is now open for the Kentucky Association of School Councils (KASC) annual conference Sept. 22-23 at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.
The conference brings together teachers, school administrators, and parents from across the state to focus on what’s working in Kentucky schools. The theme this year is “Student Achievement: Success for All.”
John Hodge, president and co-founder of the Urban Learning and Leadership Center, will be the keynote speaker. Conference session highlights include:
- technology
- 18 high-performing schools
- schools with impressive improvement
- SBDM credit for experienced and new council members (in designated sessions only)
There will also be two pre-conference sessions Sept. 21:
- “K-PREP Strategies to Improve Student Achievement” (noon-3 p.m.): Focuses on immediate and long-term strategies to improve teaching, motivate students and implement rigorous standards.
- “Proven Ways to Impact Student Achievement (3:30 -6:30 p.m.) includes an energizing focus on high-impact factors for improving student achievement based on research compiled by world-renowned educator Eric Jensen.
